The near infrared emission and large Stokes shift of the KODAK X-SIGHT 670 LSS Dyes result in a higher signal to noise ratio, allowing for deeper imaging into an animal. The TFP Ester, like the NHS Ester, is also amine reactive and forms a strong amide bond between the dye and biomolecule of interest. TFP esters, however, are known to be less susceptible to hydrolysis in aqueous solvents and more stable than NHS esters. The KODAK X-SIGHT 670 LSS Dyes therefore provide an incredibly bright and robust platform for translating molecular imaging experiments from in vitro to in vivo applications. There are no other commercially available dyes that naturally have a large Stokes shift (>85 nm) in the near infra-red range, making this a truly novel and cutting-edge product.
